UDC Observation of Constitution Day in 2012

The Department of Political Science, History and Global Studies will support and host two Constitution Day events.
University of the District of Columbia students will attend the taping of a program commemorating the 150th anniversary of Emancipation at the Smithsonian Museum of American History. The program, starts at 1:00 p.m., and is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
Students on the Van Ness campus will gather at 12:00 noon in the 4.0 Lounge, located in Building 38 Level B. At that time students from the Drama Program will read excerpts from speeches by Fannie Lou Hamer, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune and sections of the 13th, 14th, 15th, 19th and 26th Amendments to the Constitution. At 1:00 p.m. the live feed of the program taking place at the Museum of American History will be shown in the 4.0 Lounge.
