Giving To UDC

Why Give to UDC?

The University of the District of Columbia system, including the flagship four-year institution and the new Community College, offers more than 80 academic programs that range from the Associate’s degree and Master’s degree. We provide numerous certificate programs that help the people of the District of Columbia improve their lives. These programs, along with a diverse student body and dedicated faculty, make UDC not only critically important to the District, but also the region.  When you partner with us, your gift helps students achieve their dreams fulfill its mission of providing quality, affordable, and accessible education to students in Washington, DC, and beyond.

Your gift helps students like Arnold Thomas Bigger achieve their dreams. He is a 2012 graduate, and received the Phillips Cooke Scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic school year. That helped him graduate with a bachelor’s degree, then move onto to obtain a master’s degree. The alumnus is a licensed educator teaching at a preparatory school in the District.

Bigger’s love for knowledge continues to grow, he is continuing his graduate studies as a Doctor of Education candidate. Now that Bigger is a UDC partner, he realizes the impact the scholarship made in his life. “I give back to the Paul Phillips Cooke Scholarship,” said Bigger, “because I am the result of the foundation I received from UDC. I will continue to support the Paul Phillips Cooke Scholarship because the Paul Phillips Cooke scholarship continues to support me.”
