COVID-19 Protocol for Spring 2023

On November 22, 2022, UDC updated its COVID-19 protocol to align with the most recent guidance from the CDC and DC Health for the spring semester. The below updates apply to all members of the UDC community and visitors to UDC sites:

  • UDC has discontinued the mask mandate and maintains a mask-optional policy at all UDC sites.
  • UDC will no longer require proof of vaccination for enrollment or employment this semester. The University encourages all students and employees to stay current with their COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters.
  • UDC’s David A. Clarke School of Law has adopted the new protocols for the spring and will also maintain a weekly testing requirement.
  • University guests and visitors are not required to wear masks or show proof of COVID-19 vaccination status while at UDC sites.

We appreciate the vigilance of the UDC community in keeping faculty, staff and students safe throughout the pandemic. If you suspect you have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, please monitor for symptoms, wear a mask and self-test. If you have questions or concerns regarding the University’s updated COVID-19 protocols for the spring semester, please email COVIDCONFIDENTIAL@udc.edu.

Reporting Positive COVID-19 Cases and Close Contact Exposure

  • All positive COVID-19 cases must be reported to COVIDCONFIDENTIAL@udc.edu. Once you contact COVIDCONFIDENTIAL@udc.edu, you will automatically receive an email with the survey link to upload your positive test result and provide information about your case.
  • The University does not require a negative COVID-19 test result to return to UDC sites,  provided that an individual is asymptomatic and has isolated for at least five days following the onset of symptoms. Anyone requesting to be away or telework for more than ten days will need a physician’s justification for the requested accommodation.
  • If you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please adhere to the CDC’s guidelines for close contact exposure, which includes monitoring yourself for symptoms, wearing a mask and taking a COVID-19 test following the exposure. If you test positive for COVID-19, please email COVIDCONFIDENTIAL@udc.edu and isolate for at least five days.
