About Upward Bound
What Is Upward Bound?
Upward Bound is a year-round college preparatory program that provides high school students academic assistance, educational and career guidance and cultural enrichment activities. Students are expected to remain in the program until they complete high school. The program is sponsored by the University of the District of Columbia’s Office for TRIO and College Preparatory Programs. It encourages high school students to graduate and pursue a post-secondary education. It is a part of UDC’s Student Development & Success.
Mission Statement
The Upward Bound Program is funded by the US Department of Education and is designed to strengthen academic skills as well as provide the motivation necessary for educational success beyond high school.
