PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The workshop will empower and inspire participants to pursue careers in Biomedical Engineering (BME) through multidisciplinary project based learning.

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

Individuals 18 and over are welcome. Women and those from underrepresented backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply.

ACTIVITIES AND BENEFITS

Hands-on engineering design projects in the newly renovated Center for Biomechanical &

Rehabilitation Engineering (CBRE) Lab using state-of-the-art equipment.

Exposure to real-world problems and solutions

– Motion Capture system to measure body movements

–  Forceplate Walkway system to measure standing balance and gait

– Design of devices via hands-on interactive kits

– Guest speakers on BME

– Field trips to BME institutes

Professional Development

Participants will be trained in techniques useful for job search, internship, and college search processes.

Closing Event

Invited guests including faculty, staff, family and friends present outcomes of workshop experiences.
