Graduate Certificate Nonprofit Management and Leadership
The Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management & Leadership is affiliated with the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, a national alliance whose mission is to “strengthen the social sector with a talented, prepared workforce” (“Nonprofit Leadership Alliance” n.d.).
The mission of the Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership is to “prepare competent professional leaders for nonprofit organizations.” The Program:
Beginning in August 2017, courses for the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management & Leadership are offered in two-8-week cycle per semester during the traditional 15 ½ week semester. Therefore, students are can take one or two classes per 8-week cycle and only need to come on campus one or two nights a week. If you are attending as a full-time student, you can obtain your certificate in an academic year. If you are part-time student, it can take a minimum of 9 months to complete your certificate. We are excited about the new 8-week format and believe it is enhance the experience for our students. Certificate Admission Criteria
*Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required for acceptance to the Certificate program. Up to 9 credits may be applied to the Master of Public Administration (MPA). However, if the student decides to enroll in the MPA program, all the requirements for the MPA degree must be satisfied prior to registering for the fourth course in the Certificate Program. The remaining Nonprofit Management Certificate courses will be incorporated into the degree plan.
Baccalaureate degree is required to receive certification through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and enroll in graduate level courses. UDC Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Students Association (NLASA) – participation is required. |
