Steven a South Carolina native, graduated from Johnson & Wales University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s in Sports/Entertainment & Event Management with a concentration in Facility Operations and the University of the District of Columbia 2019 Master of Public Administration. During his college tenure, Steven was destined for greatness as he led the largest student-run organization in the country as the National Chair of the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality. In 2012 upon graduating he landed his first management position with Marriott International, within that same year Marriott sought Steven out and he later became the first Engineering Management Trainee. Steven’s career continued to flourish as he held several management positions within the organization. After being of service to customers within the hospitality industry for 5 years he then branched into the public sector in 2017.
Steven used his transferrable skills gained to become the DGS Facilities Liaison to DCPS overseeing 120 active schools in the District of Columbia. During that time Steven began to further his educational career at the University of the District of Columbia by enrolling and completing the Master of Public Administration program. Steven’s passion to serve others continued to blossom and he was later selected to be the opening Facilities Manager for the DC Entertainment & Sports Arena under Events DC. During his first 6 months on the job, Steven was promoted to his current role as the Director of Facility Operations & Services for Events DC. Steven has a true passion for facilities but an even greater passion to serve the constituents of the District of Columbia. Steven’s ultimate goal is to lead a municipal agency. As of today, he remains active in several community service organizations and NFBPA. He’s a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden. Also, his proudest moment would be recently being wedded to his wife Shanttel Liberato-Tiller in October of 2019.
