The Division carries out its mission through the following two units:
The mission of the library is to supply information resources and efficient support services to university students, faculty, and staff. The library collects, organizes, preserves, and provides access to a wide variety of resources that support the teaching and research interests of the university community. The library provides a physical environment with appropriate technology as well as an online presence with services for remote accessibility. In advancing its mission, the library maintains cooperative programs with other local institutions of higher education for the exchange of materials and services to augment its support of activities at the University of the District of Columbia.
The Center for the Advancement of Learning works closely with library services to serve as the interdisciplinary hub for all academic units to advance and celebrate local and national evidence-based practices in teaching and learning. The center partners with faculty, staff, graduate students, post-doctoral students, and administrators to develop and sustain a university culture that values and rewards teaching, respects and supports individual differences among learners, and creates learning environments in which diverse students and instructors can excel.
The division has two directors that provide leadership to these units.
