UDC Community-To-Career Academy in Anacostia
UDC Community-To-Career Academy in Anacostia is a component of a redesign partnership at Anacostia High School.
It is an innovative, national, early college high school
model that allows high school students to earn a professional certification or up to 60 transferrable college credits towards an Associate Degree, tuition-free, while earning their high school diploma.
It focuses on getting students on a higher education path and actually taking professional certification or college courses as opposed to just preparing for college. It helps make college “accessible” for low-income, urban learners.
UDC Community-To-Career Academy in Anacostia is also more than just about earning credits or certifications. It also opens the “college experience” to students as young as middle schoolers and their families.
