CAUSES Community Supported Agriculture Program
UDC CAUSES CSA 2017
The College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) is pleased to announce the third annual UDC CAUSES Community Supported Agriculture Program, or UDC CAUSES CSA. For an affordable CSA fee, you will receive a share of fresh produce grown at the UDC Firebird Farm, green roof, and aquaponics systems. The CSA is only open to UDC faculty, staff and students.
Embodying the land-grant tradition of UDC, the CAUSES Urban Agriculture team will identify specific produce that will be grown sustainably for the use of members of the CSA. Weekly deliveries may consist of leaf lettuce, spinach, Swiss chard, tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, eggplant, broccoli, kale and cabbage varieties and many other ethnic and specialty crops, depending on the season. Please see the attached application for more details about what fruits and vegetables to expect throughout the growing season.
Our CSA season begins May 25, 2017, and will last until November 16, 2017. Members are responsible for picking up their share of freshly harvested produce every week at the UDC Van Ness campus. The cost for one full CSA membership is $550 (discounted to $525 if paid in a lump sum). This year, we are happy to announce seasonal memberships as well as full- and half-share boxes for our CSA members. Please see the options below for pricing and payment deadlines.
