UDC’s Reaching Excellence in Academics and Leadership (REAL) Deal UDConnections

On behalf of the Office of the Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Lawrence Potter, I’d like to thank you for your interest in the University of the District of Columbia’s 2021 REAL DEAL Summer Bridge program, UDConnections.

You are among a select group of students recently admitted to the University that have been invited to participate in the University of the District of Columbia’s Reaching Excellence in Academics and Leadership (REAL) Deal Summer Bridge program, also known as UDConnections. The program will launch with a virtual orientation on Wednesday, June 30. The courses will run from Friday, July 1, through Wednesday, August 11, 2021 and the program will culminate with a virtual celebration on Friday, August 13, 2021. As part of the program, you will attend classes three days a week—Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. (Discovery Diversity will be from 10:00am – 12:05pm; and Foundation Writing will be from 12:45pm – 2:50pm), meet weekly with a faculty advisor, and receive support from peer mentors. If you successfully navigate the courses (grades of C or better), you will have completed the summer program with six (6) college-level credits – a great head start on your first year! IN ADDITION, the University will make available a limited number of scholarships of up to $200 per week for eligible students. Information on the application procedure for these scholarships will be coming soon.

This is an amazing opportunity, but space is limited, so please act fast. We will be admitting only 26 students, all on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to respond is noon, Monday, June 28, 2021. We hope you will be able to participate.
