Letter from President Mason

TO: The University Community:

I am very excited to be a part of the Firebird family and to be the servant leader of the only public university in the nation’s capital.

I have spent the past month becoming more familiar with the rich history of the University and talking to students, faculty, staff and administrators. I have learned much about this fine institution – its many successes as well as its challenges.

From the feedback I have received, my sense that a realistic goal for us is to build a public system of higher learning, one that serves the residents of the District of Columbia in a way that can be the model for the nation.

I would like to know if you share this vision and are willing to work to achieve it. Share your thoughts with me at president@udc.edu.

I look forward to the journey as we engage in a process to build a better University of the District of Columbia and produce graduates to help build a better world.
