Dr. Tony E. Summers
Chief Community College Officer
Currently serves as Chief Community College Officer. Prior to his employment with the University of the District of Columbia Community College, Dr. Summers worked for the Dallas County Community College District (Richland College), where he served as the Vice President for Student Development. His experience includes positions as Director of Financial and Director of Minority Affairs at the Community College of Allegheny County, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Summers is a community college graduate, completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Duquesne University, Masters of Education at the University of Pittsburgh and a Doctoral Degree at Walden University.
An experienced lecturer, educator, writer and consultant, Dr. Summers is also active with numerous community organizations. Leadership Richardson, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Kawains International, United Way, Citizens Police Academy/Richardson Texas, Leadership Pittsburgh, and the National Association of Student Development are just a few of the organization.
He has received the Dallas County Community College Jean Sharon Griffith Award for student service, the Richland College Outstanding Employee of the Month, The Community College of Allegheny County Outstanding Employee of the Year Award, and the Outstanding Alumnus Award.
In addition he was selected to receive a fellowship from the W.K. Kellogg Leadership program. His leadership training includes selection to the American Council of Community Colleges, Future Leaders Program and the Lakin Institute for Mentored Leadership.
