On September 12 at 1 p.m. Eastern, UDC Professor Dr. Lara Thompson will discuss robotic training methods used in her lab, which could help improve balance in aging individuals. Dr. Thompson is the NSF’s 2022 Waterman Award winner and the founding director of the Biomedical Engineering Program and the Center for Biomechanical & Rehabilitation Engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Sciences. She investigates assistive technologies and robotics aimed at improving balance in elderly individuals and survivors of stroke.
