UDC’s Minority Male Mentoring Initiative visits Ballou Senior High School

Members of the University of the District of Columbia’s Minority Male Mentoring Initiative enjoyed a great morning at Ballou High School on August 21st. The Annual Welcome Back to School event offered students an opportunity to be greeted by community members as they entered the school building for their first day of the academic year. UDC administrators Dr. Timothy Hatchett, Dr. Carl Moore, Dr. James Maiden, Dr. Dwane Jones, and Dr. Tony Johnson chanted, cheered and provided words of encouragement as the young scholars entered the school.

Ballou High School also literally rolled out a red carpet for seniors to traverse as they began their final stretch of high school. Ballou High School is located in SE DC, and is led by a phenomenal principal Dr. Yetunde Reeves. Ballou High School administrators and teachers are excited and proud that 100% of last year’s senior class were accepted for admission to college. The school looks forward to the Class of 2018 celebrating the same success!
