UDC’s First MSEE Graduate

UDC’s First MSEE Graduate
Roland Yannick Kamdem, UDC’s first graduate of the new Master of Science in Electrical Engineering program, successfully presented and defended his master’s thesis on May 1, 2012. His thesis titled “Partial Ordering and Stochastic Resonance for Discrete Memoryless Channels” addresses a topic that is very important in communications and of particular interest to the Department of Defense. Support for the project was provided by Dr. Paul Cotae’s research grant on underwater acoustics from the Office of Naval Research.
Mr. Kamdem earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from UDC and he entered the graduate program in Fall 2010.
The photos show research advisor Cotae introducing Mr. Kamdem, and Mr. Kamdem with the proud electrical engineering faculty, most of whom served as thesis reviewers.
L to R: Professor Esther Ososanya, Professor Samuel Lakeou (Department Chair), Mr. Kamdem, Associate Professor Paul Cotae (thesis advisor), Assistant Professor Sasan Haghani, and Associate Professor Wagdy Mahmoud (coordinator of the MSEE graduate program).
