UDC Creates Environmental S.W.A.T. Team
Washington, DC - The University of the District of Columbia (UDC) has formed an Environmental S.W.A.T. Team (EST) to provide volunteers for many of the Districts important sustainability projects. Students, working under the leadership of the university’s Sustainability Initiative, will assist on community projects that promote environmental awareness and stewardship, including tree plantings, green roof installations, invasive species removal and other environmental projects. The goal of the EST is to accumulate up to 700 volunteer hours of labor before the end of 2011.
