Trustee Nominees Tour UDC
Washington, DC - President Allen Sessoms greeted six of the eight nominees to become Trustees of the University of the District of Columbia on Monday. After a presentation, Dr. Sessoms led the group on a tour of the main facilities, showing them the current plaza deck renovation project. Vice President Barbara Jumper joined the group with diagrams of what the campus will look like when the project is completed in late October or early November. The plaza deck renovation is the largest ‘green roof’ project currently under way in the District. Trustee nominees in attendance were: George Vradenberg, Christopher Bell, Stephen Porter, LuAnn Bennett, Carmen Ramirez, and Errol Schwartz. Current student trustee Cheick Diakite also attended. Nominees who could not attend are Katherine Bradley and Ricardo Brown. The confirmation hearing for the nominees is scheduled for Thursday June 23rd, 2011.
