UDC-CSIT Robotics Team Brings Home the Gold

UDC is proud to announce that our CSIT (Computer Science & Information Technology) Robotics Team won medals in two of five events at the Spelman College Computer Science Olympiad 2010 (March 26 - 27, 2010).  There were 24 teams in the competition from 13 colleges and universities.  It was held this year at Hampton University in conjunction with the ARTSI (Advancing Robotic Technology for Societal Impact) Research Conference.

Professors David Barnett and LaVonne Manning accompanied the team to Hampton and attended the ARTSI conference.

The team members were Lino Agli (captain), Flora Bazie, Travis Branham and Damian Damte.  All are computer science majors.

The team won second place in the Hardware/Software Integration event and first place in the Google Gadget Making event.

They received the best prize of the evening -- a Google Nexus One cell phone for each team member, donated by Google.
