UDC System Announces Appointment of General Counsel
Washington, DC - University System of the District of Columbia President Allen L. Sessoms today announced the appointment of Craig W. Parker as General Counsel for the UDC System.
Mr. Parker, who has served as Associate Vice President and General Counsel of the Catholic University of America, will start at UDC on December 1, 2009.
"Craig brings tremendous talent to our team," said Dr. Sessoms. "His reputation and ability will be significant forces in moving our system forward."
Mr. Parker has been general counsel at CUA since 1987 and in recent years has taken on leadership responsibilities in the areas of community and government relations. He also served as CUA's assistant general counsel and dean of its law school.
Mr. Parker received a B.A. in journalism from the University of Kansas and his J.D. from Catholic University. He is a member of the Legal Services Review Panel of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and the NCAA General Counsel Advisory Board. Mr. Parker is also active in the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
