About the Career and Professional Development Center Welcome to the University of the District of Columbia Career Service Office!!! The Career and Professional Development Center provides a variety of student services which include career assessments, career consultation, resume and application review along with strategies on how students can navigate the interview process. The CAPDC also provides students with on-campus employment for those who qualify and information pertinent to some of the nation’s capital’s most sought after internships as well as the federal government’s Student Career Employment Program (SCEP) and Student Temporary Employment Program, (STEP) which are stepping stones to a career in the federal government. Career consultations, resume and application reviews, and interview preparation are provided one-on-one or in groups with a member of the CAPDC staff. Students’ information is confidential; we take pride in offering personalized service. The Career and Professional Development Center provides online job vacancy information, including its udc.zippyjobs.com, which provides information for part-time jobs for university students in the Washington metropolitan area. A variety of online career development resources, online resume and interviewing guides are also available. The CAPDC also hosts Career Fairs and invites employers from private, government and non-profit organizations to the University for On-Campus Recruitment; this allows students to have direct contact with employers and it provides networking opportunities.
