Ms. Tawanna Lee - Director of Residence Life

Tawanna Lee serves as the Director of Residence Life at the University of the District of Columbia, providing overall leadership and direction for operations and developmental programming for residential students.  Mrs. Lee also serves as advisor to Resident Student Association, a student –led organization which represents and protects the views, concerns, and rights of the residential community, and strives to improve the quality of life within university housing.  Mrs. Lee brings over a decade of experience in mentoring and supporting students, coupled with the executive leadership in supervision, operations development, budgeting, and strategic planning to advance the Office of Residence Life.   Mrs. Lee completed her Bachelor of Science degree in International Business & Entrepreneurship from Florida Atlantic University. Mrs. Lee completed her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership, with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from Lynn University. 

Prior to her arrival at the University of the District of Columbia, she held progressively responsible roles in the field of housing/residential life, most recently serving as a member of the leadership team for GW Housing Programs, a residential program responsible for 7,400+ students at the George Washington University.   Mrs. Lee is also an active member and regional and national professional student affairs and housing-related associations, including ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers-International) and NASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators)
