Mr. Jared E. Moffett, M.Ed. B.S., C. - Director of Career and Professional Development Center

TJared E. Moffettitle: Director of Career Services and the Career & Professional Development Center

Job Duties: Lead and supervise the career services staff, facilitate employer partnerships, counsel students and alumni, collaborate with faculty and staff, administer the job and internship database, coordinate career events, integrate career services technologies, and report career services data for the university.

Education and Training: Masters of Education in School Counseling, Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Sociology, and. Certificate in Child and Family Psychology. Currently completing a Doctorate of Behavioral Health with a Clinical Specialization with an expected graduation date of Spring 2016.

Employment Experience: Director of Career Services at University of the District of Columbia Community College, Coordinator of Cooperative Education and Internship Services, Special Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Assistant Coordinator of Counseling, Counselor, and Instructor at Northern Virginia Community College; School Guidance Counselor and Varsity Swim Team Coach at Baltimore City Public Schools; Mental Health Associate Counselor at Allegany County Health Department; Addictions Counselor at Maryland State Department of Public Safety and Corrections; Lead Teacher at Alternative Community Resource Program; Weight Management Counselor at Camp Wellsprings; Financial Aid and Admissions Work Study Assistant at Frostburg State University; Counseling Psychology and School Counseling Intern at Various Elementary, Middle, and High Schools.

More Info: Mr. Moffett brings over 15 years of experience in the field of education and counseling as a leader, instructor, and clinician at both the higher education and K-12 levels. His career highlights have included redeveloping the Career Services Online system also known as CSO for the University of the District of Columbia as well as establishing the Career Services Center at UDC’s Community College. Additionally he authored the Cooperative Education & Coordinated Internships Handbook, managed the Career Center, and developed specialized career courses and experiential learning courses across multiple academic departments at Northern Virginia Community College. Furthermore, he is the recipient of multiple awards and scholarships in the areas of education, counseling, behavioral health, and psychology. In his spare time he is working on a clinical handbook for the treatment of obesity through behavioral health approaches. Mr. Moffett full-heartedly believes that championing for student success is the result of applying educational high impact evidenced based practices as well personal commitment to being a dedicated professional, instructional leader, continuous assessor, educational advocate, collaborative bridge builder, and reflective ethical decision maker.
