Address to the Class of 2012

The journey of your flight that took you to this height has not gone unnoticed. Some of you are the first in your circle to have attained a college degree.   Some of you reared your children while attaining this degree; some worked a full time job, while others experienced a combination of experiences.  The recipe, I was told, to success was the bitter gall of agony and pain. I was told those were the exercise needed to build your mental muscle.  How badly do you want it? Life has and will continue to ask you.  When you stood and received your degree, in that moment you had the last laugh to that question.  When the question which lingers near shows itself again, know we in your School of Business and Public Administration will continue to stand with you.  Your internal strength must be your rock as it has been for you.  Your courage must be your pillow as it has demonstrated to you. Your love for oneself must be your wings as it has already lifted you.  But, if the moment in life should come when you feel those gifts are failing you, know that you can always look behind and take notice of this your extended family who will always be routing for you.

Congratulations to the Class of 2012!  You have taken the School of Business and Public Administration to new heights. We wish you the very best!
