Employment Skills Training - Comprehensive Medical Billing and Coding

This training prepares participants for a career as a medical coding specialist which covers both inpatient and outpatient coding and links a connection to the billing/reimbursement/collections process. Participants receive instruction on industry theory and practice, an in-depth overview of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding, specialty and coding levels. Participants become familiar with the coding rationales with increased knowledge and skills in efficient and acceptable procedures and practices.

Course objectives:

By the end of the training, participants will:

  1. Know how to code correctly
  2. How to link correct codes for reimbursement with various insurance carriers and government entities
  3. Know how and when to bill patients correctly
  4. What to do with a payment denial or rejection
