Verizon and UDC: Partners in Scholarship and Global Leadership Program
The UDC Verizon Scholars Program is a merit scholarship and special professional development program for full time students enrolled in baccalaureate, graduate or law degree programs at UDC. Students in all majors are eligible to apply.
One Verizon scholarship of up to $3,500 will be awarded to a full-time graduate student who earned a bachelor’s degree at UDC. At least five Verizon Scholarship of up to $2,500 will be awarded to full-time UDC students enrolled in bachelor’s degree programs. At least one of the undergraduate Verizon scholarship is reserved for a UDC Community College Associate’s degree graduate who matriculates directly into a bachelor’s degree program at UDC in the term immediately after earning the Associate degree. Law school applicants must be a UDC graduate attending the David A. Clarke School of Law.
Application Instructions and Requirements
Must be enrolled in the University of the District of Columbia pursuing a Law Degree, Master Degree, or Bachelor Degree or be a recent graduate of the University of the District of Columbia Community College matriculating directly into a UDC baccalaureate (four-year) degree program.
Must have and maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA. Must submit copy of transcript
Must write a personal statement reflecting on your career ambitions, commitment to public and community service, and reason for aspiring to be a Verizon Scholar
Must provide 2 reference letters
Must provide copy of your resume
Completed application package must be dropped off at the Office of Career and Professional Development, Building 38, Room A-15 by close of business November 30. Dec 15th for Law
students.
