The University of the District of Columbia is pleased to announce the opening of the competition for the Daughters of the American Revolution award. The scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students enrolled in the Community College of DC and UDC Flagship majoring in Education, History or Teaching Programs (e.g., Early Childhood education, Special Education, Health Education).
Administration of the Program Scholarship recipients will be selected by the University of the District of Columbia Scholarship Committee.
Amount of the Scholarship Six recipients will be awarded $1000 each. This is a non-renewable one time only scholarship award to assist with the costs of tuition and fees.
To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
a. Be a U.S. Citizen
b. Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
c. Be enrolled full-time (min. 12 credit hrs. undergraduate & 9 credit hrs. graduate)
d. Demonstrate financial need
e. Submit a personal statement of career objectives, how the award will help support your educational goals and plans for the future
f. Must agree to attend DC DAR luncheon event
Application Procedure Applicants must submit the personal statement, two (2) letters of recommendation from a principal, dean, chairperson, counselor, advisor, teacher, professor, or community leader, and a completed University of the District of Columbia scholarship application (incomplete applications will not be considered) on or before February 1 to:
