| UDC Scholarships |
The University of the District of Columbia Foundation, Inc. and the Office of the President announce the opening of the competition for the Presidential Scholarship for District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) Graduates. The scholarship was established in 1996 to help District of Columbia Public Schools students who have earned high academic honors pursue their higher education goals at the University of the District of Columbia.
AWARD: The scholarship will cover tuition and fees for four (4) academic years.
ELIGIBILITY: The scholarship is open to students who have 3.0 grade point averages (GPA) or better, and students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to remain eligible. Preference will be given to students with the highest average. Applicants must reside in the District of Columbia, be a graduating senior in a District of Columbia Public High School, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and must intend to pursue a full-time course of study at the University of the District of Columbia leading to a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must submit a UDC Merit Scholarship application, an unofficial high school transcript, three (3) letters of recommendation (from a principal, counselor, teacher, clergy or community leader), and a 300-500 word essay from one of the following topics:
