Office of Facilities and Real Estate
Message from Vice President Barbara Jumper
Welcome to our website. Over the past year, the University of the District of Columbia has implemented a number of changes. I am excited about upcoming plans and additional changes that are forthcoming. I am the Vice President for the Office of Facilities and Real Estate. In this endeavor, I manage all Real Estate, Operations and Maintenance, and Construction for the University's owned and leased properties. In October 2009, the University was granted authority by the District of Columbia Council to manage its' own Capital Projects. As a result, the Capital Construction Division was established in November 2009. In January 2010, the University was favored once again and granted procurement authority independent from the Office of Contracting and Procurement. As a result, the Capital Procurement Division was established in February 2010. Both organizations were established to work together toward a common goal that will give our first class institution the opportunity to manage its' own capital projects. My staff is very dedicated to our mission and my office continues to attract and retain outstanding staff who are well respected in their fields. Throughout this website, you will get a snapshot of our completed and current projects as well as information on any future business opportunities. Also, each quarter, we will feature one of our premier projects. This quarter, we have selected the Design of The New Student Center at UDC Van Ness Campus.
Over the next months, my staff and I look forward to meeting with many of you. I am anxious to have the opportunity to work closely with your organizations and the University becoming a resource for a lifetime. I invite you to explore the University. Visit our campus or our website. You're always welcome at University of the District of Columbia.
