Media Get on Firebird Winning Streak...
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, DC - Local news crews visited the University campus Thursday afternoon (1/12) to ask men's basketball coach Jeff Ruland about the Firebirds' incredible season. NBC 4 filmed a piece will run at a future time, but also visiting was Washington Examiner columnist and Washingtonian contributor Harry Jaffe, whose column on Friday focuses on the winning Firebirds. Coach Ruland credited the determination of the Firebirds team and said there's no reason this team couldn't make it all the way to the Division II national championship, as it did last in 1982 and 83.
Pictured above are Coach Ruland and Harry Jaffe. In the second picture, Jaffe shows Firebird Pride!
