Kinlow

Eugene Dewitt Kinlow - Board of Trustee

Eugene Dewitt Kinlow is a native Washingtonian who currently resides in the Bellevue section of Far Southwest.  He is an Alumnus of the University of the District of Columbia having earned a degree (BA) in Business Administration in 1987.  Mr. Kinlow serves as Outreach Director for DC Vote, where he develops and strengthens relationships with city officials, community members, coalition partners and with key opinion leaders in an effort to bring full voting representation to the residents of the District of Columbia.

Currently, Mr. Kinlow is a Trustee and is Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the University of the District of Columbia, a board member and Vice Chairperson of the Washington East Foundation, an advisor to the Sierra Club’s Environmental Justice Program, and is a member of the Mayor’s Environmental Council.  Eugene is a past president of the Ward 8 Democrats, an advisory board member for the East of the River Community Newspaper, a board member of Cultural Tourism DC, a Board member of the Anacostia Coordinating Council, and a board member of the Workers Rights Board.

He is a former trustee of the Committee of 100 on the Federal City, where he chaired the Parks & Conservation Committee, the past president of the Bellevue Civic Association, a former Commissioner of the D.C. Commission for National and Community Service, a former board member and chairperson of Community Harvest, as well as a former Advisory Board member for the Anacostia Riverkeeper.  He was appointed by Mayor Williams to his Transit Oriented Development Taskforce, and is the former Vice Chairperson of the Consumer Utility Board.

He is a member of Leadership Washington’s Class of 2002, and ran for an At-large seat on the DC City Council in 2002.
