Barrueta

J. Fernando Barrueta, Board of Trustees

The Hispanic College Fund is a national organization, based in Washington D.C. that solicits funds from corporations, government and foundations to provide scholarships to deserving Hispanic college undergraduates.

Current donors include SallieMae, Dennys, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, MasterCard, Sprint, NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy, GEICO, Provident Bank and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation.

As a President and CEO of the HCF, Mr. Barrueta is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the organization. However, his primary function is fundraising to meet the needs of qualified Hispanic students.


Career Highlights

Mr. Barrueta has 30 years of commercial real estate experience. As former Vice Chairman of Transwestern Carey Winston, founder and owner of Barrueta & Associates, and a very involved participant in the non-profit community, he has extensive experience in directing and assisting corporate, professional and non-profit organizations achieve their objectives, solve their office space problems and improve their financial status. His former client include the Washington Post, The Investment Company Institute, Verizon, the National Association of Realtors, the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the D.C. Chamber of Commerce
