Welcome New Firebird! Congratulations on your admission to the University of the District (UDC) of Columbia! We are excited that you are joining us for the Fall, 2013 semester! Please select an Orientation below that you will attend. Please note, there is no Orientation for summer school. Upon arrival, please report to Building 46 – Auditorium.
We strongly recommend that you attend the mandatory New Student Orientation for all newly admitted students. It is an important first step in your journey to success at the University of the District of Columbia. At New Student Orientation, you will learn about programs, services, and supports that the University of the District of Columbia has to offer students. You will meet classmates, faculty, and University leaders, and learn strategies for adapting to college life at UDC, whether you are a first time student, transfer or readmitted student. In addition, you will have the opportunity to receive advising from the Academic Advising Center and/or your academic program and departments to ensure that you receive credit for all of your prior college work, if applicable. You should leave with a plan of study that reflects your interests and ensures your graduation in a timely manner.
Please dress comfortably, and wear walking shoes. If you are a Community College Student please disregard this message and send an e-mail to cc@udc.edu with your Student ID# and put “Orientation” in the subject line. You will be contacted by one of the Student Success Specialists about when to come to campus for your Orientation session.
Here are a few additional things you need to remember:
Please review and print the attached Step by Step Guide for Advising, Registration, and Payment. Please bring the Step by Step Guide with you to Orientation.
