UDC Professor Wins Awards at Globecom 2011

Dr. Paul Cotae recognized for key contributions to the organization

Washington, DC - The University of the District of Columbia is pleased to announce that Dr. Paul Cotae, associate professor of electrical engineering, received two awards at the recently held IEEE Global Communication Conference  (GLOBECOM 2011  http://www.ieee-globecom.org/ ) in Houston.

The first award is the North America Region Chapter Achievement Award (CAA ComSoc) “for achieving excellence in chapter activities and for contributions in furthering the objectives of the society.”

The second is the  Chapter of the Year Award (2011 CoY ComSoc) “for achieving the highest excellence in chapter activities and for outstanding contributions furthering the objectives of the society.” We are recognized as the best ComSoc chapter out of 208 chapters in the world.
The IEEE Communication Society (http://www.comsoc.org/) is a leading global community comprised of industry and academic professionals with a common interest in advancing all communications technologies. This society sponsors publications, conferences, educational programs, local activities, and technical committees that foster original work in all aspects of communications science, engineering, and technology.
