Making Headlines For More Than 160 Years

03/13/2012 UDC Counseling and Student Development Center’s Campaign 9:30 hosted the first on-campus testing event with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation March 6th.
The UDC Counseling and Student Development Center’s Campaign 9:30 (C9:30) (which stands for every 9 minutes and 30 seconds someone is infected with HIV) hosted the first on-campus testing event with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation March 6th.
The Foundation, which is affiliated with Magic Johnson, reported the largest number of people tested for an initial partnership ever! Sixty-two people were tested in 4 hours, of which approximately 12 were first time testers.
Campaign 9:30 is a SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) grant lead by the Director of the Counseling Center, Dr. Sislena Grocer Ledbetter, and boasts a team of 14 incredible student peer educators. The students recorded over 135 signatures with almost as many surveys completed! For more information, call 202.274.6000.
