University of the District of Columbia Community College recieves workforce development grants from Community Foundation for the National Capital Region and the Walmart Foundation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, DC - The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region and the Walmart Foundation have announced $1.25 million in workforce development grants as part of the DC Urban Workforce Development Initiative, a partnership between the foundations and the University of the District of Columbia Community College. Five local community-based organizations received awards, which will support programs to provide 2,000 District residents with literacy, customer service, and retail training. (CFNCR, 10/11)
