Student Health Insurance Premium Increase

The University of The District of Columbia is currently negotiating with a health insurance broker for an improved student health insurance plan, within the guidelines set forth by the Affordable Health Act of 2012.

All enrolled students (domestic or International) who cannot demonstrate that they have a current insurance policy will be assessed a health insurance premium rate, effective for the Fall 2013 semester. Therefore, the current health insurance premium indicated on your Fall 2013 student account will adjust immediately upon the close of negotiations between the insurance broker, the university, and insurance carrier. Students should monitor their account at my.udc.edu to view adjusted amount of insurance premiums.

The Student Health Center will provide information sessions in the upcoming weeks to clarify the details regarding the new and improved health plan for all students. Please direct all questions to Ms. Jane Darko, Director, Student Health Center or Ms. Candice Moore, Program Assistant, at 202‐274‐5030 or email studenthealthins.udc.edu.
