Statement Concerning the Status of the University During the Federal Shutdown

Statement from President James Lyons

The Board of Trustees met in emergency session last evening to review the state of circumstances surrounding the federal shutdown. After a presentation from the Director of the Mayor’s Budget Office, the Board took no further action.  The University is covered by the District’s actions to fund operations during the shutdown from its local reserves. Therefore, the University of the District of Columbia will remain open during this period until further notice.
