06/20/2011 Initiative on Civic Engagement & Equity: Summer Internship Grant Program Awardees 2011
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, DC - Twelve UDC volunteer interns working on projects with considerable social justice, and equity value under the umbrella of the Initiative for Civic Engagement and Equity have been awarded stipends funded by a generous donation from the Live-to-Give Foundation. They were selected by the initiative’s faculty leaders, Derek Musgrove and Meena Srinivasan, from 36 applicants. This stipend means that the students could accept these internships, while still making the money over the summer that most of them need to continue their education in the fall. Undergrads receive a $4K stipend and grad and law students receive a $5 k stipend for an internship of eight or more weeks duration.
