Countdown to Plaza Ribbon Cutting...
Excitement is building for this Friday’s ribbon cutting, celebrating the renovated Dennard Plaza project and the University’s partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival. The Festival donated 40 trees, which have already been planted on the plaza deck, 10 of which were spliced from the original Japanese 1912 gift of trees currently living around the Tidal Basin in Southwest DC. Mayor Gray, President Sessoms and a host of city officials will cut a ribbon signifying a rebirth of the physical University at Van Ness. Everyone is invited!
