About DCWRRI: The Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) was created in 1973 by the Water Resources Research Act of 1964 (PL 88 - 379) which established a federal/state partnership in research, information transfer, and education of new experts in areas related to water resource management. DCWRRI is one of a network of Institutes at land - grant universities, partly funded by the US Geological Survey (USGS), under the National Water Resources Research Institutes program. The mission of DCWRRI is to provide the District of Columbia with interdisciplinary research support to identify DC water resource problems and contribute to their solutions. DCWRRI maintains a website at www.udc.edu/wrri to highlight its mission and programs and post electronic copies of publications on DCWRRI - sponsored research projects.
