MAT Programs

Urban Teacher Academy MAT programs (with concentrations in Elementary Education, Middle School Math, Secondary English, and Secondary Social Studies) feature a unique design that blends the best of traditional-route and alternative-route teacher preparation. MA degrees – in Early Childhood or Special Education – provide in-depth learning experiences in these highly specialized fields. A relatively greater emphasis on theory and research prepares students to become either classroom practitioners or for advanced study and education-related careers. Full-time students can complete MA programs in two years.
