Welcome to the University of the District of Columbia Self Study Webpage

Every ten years, the University conducts a self-study for the purposes of self-evaluation and institutional improvement as part of the decennial evaluation process set forth by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The self-study process is an integral part of the university's continuing accreditation and an opportunity to strengthen the university through a comprehensive assessment. The University is now in the early phase of the process when we develop a design document which provides the road map to guide the self study process.
We anticipate that the Middle States site visit will take place in academic year 2016 and, between now and that time, everyone's participation in the process is essential. We have prepared a PowerPoint presentation to share with others to learn more about the Self Study process. You can also participate in the process by joining a subcommittee.  To join a committee, please complete an application and contact the Co-chairs for the Self Study Steering Committee, Lena Walton or Marilyn Hamilton.

We have already completed a draft of our Self-Study Design, in preparation for a visit by our Middle States liaison on April 2, 2014 . We hope everyone will take an opportunity to share their viewpoints of our design and process.

Everyone, get on board!
