School Closings / Delays

Any unforeseen school closings and/or delays will be posted on this web page and will be updated as and when new information becomes available.  Don't forget to sign up for DC Alerts at alert.dc.gov to receive emergency notices immediately on your cell phone, pager or email.

Current Status

Due to the possibility of severe weather in the DC Metro area this afternoon and evening 6/13/2013, the following will occur:

  1. All day and evening classes are cancelled at all UDC locations today (Thursday) starting at 1pm.
  2. UDC employees can take liberal leave starting at 1pm.
  3. Essential employees are to report for regular duty.

UDC is expected to be open for regular business on Friday 6/14/2013.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather that forces the university to alter its hours of operation, we will communicate that information to you in four different ways:

  • 1. We will post updates on Facebook, Twitter and the front page of www.udc.edu immediately;
  • 2. We will send a blast email to everyone in the university, via their UDC email address;
  • 3. We will update the greeting on the main telephone number 202.274.5000;
  • 4. And we will alert local media.

UDC will announce all morning delays and closings on the UDC and UDC-CC web sites by 6am. If no announcement has been made by 6am, UDC and UDC-CC will open on time and on its regular schedule.

In the event of a weather-related closing, essential personnel are to contact their supervisors.
