3/1/12 - UDC Honors Program Takes Flight

Honors Students Visit New York
In October, a group of Honors students and faculty learned about America's immigration history by visiting Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and New York City -- topped off with a classic New York deli dinner of pastrami, latkes, and kugel at Katz's Deli.


Honors Students receive IPAD's
The Honors Program held its Welcome Back Lunch for returning students on Monday, August 23.  Dean Petty, College of Arts and Sciences, was on hand to give the three returning Honors students with the highest GPA's new Apple iPads.  Congratulations to Alfred Durham (Jr., Criminal Justice), Lihua Mao (Sr., Education), and Sayomi Stallings (Sr., Mathematics).  Freshmen Orientation for new Honors Students will take place Friday, Sept. 3 from 9:30 - Noon in Bldg. 41, Room A-05.


Honors students and faculty enjoyed a historical tour of Philadelphia in February. In addition to visiting the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, they learned about our nation's founding documents at the National Constitution Center, and they saw the world premiere of "The Eclectic Society" at America's oldest theater, Walnut Street Theater."
