Why Give to UDC?
Support UDC and make a difference!
The University of the District of Columbia system, including the flagship four-year institution and the new Community College, offers more than 70 academic programs that range from the Associate degree to the Master’s degree. We also offer numerous certificate programs that assist residents of the District of Columbia in improving their lives. These programs as well as an abundant population of bright students and dedicated faculty make UDC not only unique but also critically important to the District and the region. Private funding assists the university in fulfilling its mission of providing quality, affordable, and accessible education to students in Washington, DC and beyond. Your support is critical to our success!
Supporters like you help UDC meet its challenges with courage, determination and vigor. Every gift and every donor makes a difference for UDC scholars. Your gift is a meaningful way to demonstrate your support and we welcome your interest in building a public university our city can be proud of. Gifts to the university are made through the UDC Foundation, the university’s 501(c)3 non-profit arm. The Foundation had assets of $2.5 million at the end of fiscal year 2007, a 35% increase from assets of $1.9 million in 2004. We owe this success to your generosity!
Assets - FY2007
The UDC Foundation reported revenue of $806,066 in fiscal year 2007, with contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations and fundraising comprising 68% of the amount received. Your generosity accounts for more than fifty percent of the money we received!
Revenue - FY2007
Revenue expending is restricted by donor gift agreements and Foundation policy and procedures. Expenditures totaled $609,609 in fiscal year 2007. The Foundation dispensed over $90,000 in scholarship awards to approximately 70 students, and provided almost $240,000 in support of university academic programs and events. Again, we could not have done this without your generous support!
