Charles N. Mason, Jr. Trust

The Office of Development is pleased to announce contributions totaling over $670,000 from the Charles N. Mason, Jr. Trust to the University of the District of Columbia Foundation, Inc. endowment fund in FY2008-FY2009.

Mr. Mason, a lawyer who was instrumental in the creation of the UDC Law School, left a legacy in support of education in October 2006.  He was married to Hilda Mason, the late D.C. Board of Education and D.C. Council member.  The two were staunch supporters of education, particularly opening doors for minorities who sought a legal education.  Income from Mr. Mason’s endowment gifts will fund scholarships and financial aid to full-time students across university departments.
