The FREEVOICEOnline is a biweekly publication of the Department of Mass Media, Visual and Performing Arts. It is an outgrowth of the FREEVOICE, which was first published by the department in 1976.

Spring 2006 Staff

Professor Olive Vassell oversees the production of the FREEVOICEOnline and the FREEVOICE printed edition. Originally from London, she is executive editor for Prince George’s Suite Magazine.

Yonny Aguilar is an editor with the FREEVOICEOnline and is a junior majoring in print journalism. He is from Mexico City, Mexico. Aguilar’s dream job is to work for National Geographic or TIME magazine.

William James Bell is a junior majoring in journalism. The Washington, D.C native wants to own have his own publishing company and start a non-profit organization to help orphans and inner city youth.

Jay Belmore is managing editor of the FREEVOICEOnline and a junior majoring in journalism. A part-time environmentalist, he is keen on alternative methods of transportation.

Lark Catoe-Emerson is a sophomore majoring in Graphic Design and is currently working as an intern for the FREEVOICEOnline. Lark enjoys doing anything pertaining to art, computer animation, web and publication design. Lark will be helping to maintain the web-site with upcoming issues.

Tynisha K. Christian is a junior majoring in journalism. She plans to freelance with magazines and work for the public affairs sections of the government, one day as a member of the U.S. President’s PR/speech writing team.

Jwahara Coleman is a junior majoring in broadcast journalism. She hopes to become an anchor or a host for a morning show or talk show.

Malikah Collier is a junior and journalism major. The native Washingtonian wants to write for a family magazine or community publication.

Samara Dinkins-Rogers is a junior majoring in journalism. Originally from Washington, D.C., Dinkins-Rogers wants to start her own public relations firm. She also plans to be just as successful as Oprah.

Susana Gross is a senior majoring in journalism. She is an editor with the FREEVOICEOnline. She plans to take a year off when she graduates, and continue her studies at Georgetown University. Gross wants to build an orphanage in Africa.

Yahaira Hurtado is a sophomore majoring in journalism. She plans to become a writer for a magazine or newspaper. She also hopes to write a children’s book.

Danielle Interdonato is the web-site designer for the FREEVOICEOnline. She is a freshman majoring in Graphic Design. She plans to study Multimedia and Animation. Her dream job is to be a concept artist or animator for a company like Pixar.
