2/13/12 - Willie Jolley to ‘Motivate’ Founder’s Day Celebrants

Willie Jolley - Guest Speaker

There are many motivational speakers and then, there is the one, the only, the incomparable Willie Jolley!

The Honorable Ronald H. Brown Distinguished Leadership Awardee has been described simultaneously as “a world-class, award-winning speaker,” “best-selling author and media personality”—and the “Comeback King.”  Clearly Jolley, CPAE and CSP, is a master communicator who is always spot on and never, ever dull.  He displays verve, panache and wit with messages of self-empowerment that are direct and easy to understand.  Jolley could be talking on his daily TV segment that airs on the Washington, DC, CBS affiliate WUSA-9; or he could be addressing a corporate audience—such as, Union Pacific, Comcast, and Marriott among many others.  No matter the venue, he keeps it moving with high energy and higher enthusiasm as he delivers nuggets on how “everyman” can live a better life, one day at a time.
In 1999, Toastmasters International named Jolley “One of the Outstanding Five Speakers in the World.”  This put him in an exclusive worldwide club of just 50 with former winners that have included Nelson Mandela, Christopher Reeve, Margaret Thatcher and Colin Powell.

The versatile Jolley is also a Satellite radio personality and is host of “The Willie Jolley Weekend Show” on Sirius XM, where he interviews the “cream of the crop” in their respective fields.  Additionally, he is the author of several international best-sellers, including “It Only Takes a Minute to Change Your Life!” and “A Setback Is A Setup For A Comeback.”  Both have been translated into several languages. His new wealth building-building book “Turning Setbacks into Greenbacks” was named a book of the month by Washington Post syndicated columnist Michelle Singletary.  Jolley has also penned an organizational development book, “An Attitude of Excellence,” which has been voraciously sought-out by his corporate clients.

Recognized as one of the best of the best speakers by the National Speakers Association, Jolley has been awarded the Council of Peers Award for Excellence, or, CPAE/Speaker Hall of Fame Award.  This lifetime honor is for speaking and professionalism. Again, he joins a prestigious group that includes luminaries like Ronald Reagan, Zig Ziglar and Les Brown.  The second designation is the Certified Speaking Profession (CSP) honor.  This distinction goes to those who have made their mark in the speaking arena with presentation excellence to varied industries and audiences.

Willie Jolley holds a B.A. Degree in Psychology and Sociology from The American University and an M.A. Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary.
