4-H Volunteer of the Month

May 2004 - Anne Harding

Anne Harding was inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame in 2002. She is the 4-H Volunteer Leader at Roosevelt Senior High School and has been an English teacher in the D.C. Public School System for 30 years. As a 4-H Volunteer, Anne involves her students in 4-H and community projects such as writing "The Clover Word" 4-H newsletter and directs their project efforts, which include producing "Teen Health News," a video series produced, written, and hosted by 4-Hers, whose academic focus is journalism. Together with Sharon Quick, Anne's co-4-H volunteer leader, she raised 3.125 million dollars in scholarship money for 4-H club members and other communications students over the past five years. May 2004 - Sharon Quick

As the broadcast journalism teacher and co-4-H volunteer leader of the Rough Rider 4-H Communications Society, Sharon directs the student production of "Teen Health News."

July and August 2004 - Counselors of the UDC 4-H Summer Camps

Dawaine Cosey - Dawaine is the Youth Leader for "DC H2O: What's on Tap?" and assists with CyberCamp. He laid the foundation and recruited participants for the project.

Willene Hare - Willene is a return volunteer for the 4-H Program. As a CyberCamp counselor, she taught campers how to use the Microsoft® Office Suite® and led them in fitness exercises during camp sessions.

Raffaell Marconi - Raffaell is the head counselor for the 4-H CyberCamp. He is also the mentor for the D.C. 4-H Tech Team. Raffaell is a returning volunteer to the UDC 4-H program and has been working with the program for two years.

Giulia Marconi - Giulia is a high school senior who has been invaluable to the Sewing Entrepreneurship Program. She also assists with the CyberCamp. Giulia hopes to become a graphic designer.
